Camp Happy Summer 2025 Climbing Camp

Camp Happy’s Climbing Day Camp is a 5-day English-language program designed for students ages 7 to 17, offering a unique blend of outdoor adventure, hands-on science, and skill-building experiences in the heart of Seoul. Hosted at the Black Yak Alpine Club, the camp includes 3 days of professional rock climbing instruction, a guided hiking trip, and a special overnight stay. Campers engage in geology, physics, and team activities, all led by experienced, native English-speaking staff. With daily transportation from LFS and LIX and a safety-first, curiosity-driven approach, this camp provides a meaningful and unforgettable summer learning journey.

Dates of the camp are:
Monday, July 14 to Friday July 18, 2025
Pick up is at 8:15am from Lycee International Xavier (LIX), or
Pick up is at 9:00am from Lycee Francais Seoul (LFS).
Drop off is at 3:00pm at LFS, or at 3:45 at LIX.

Black Yak Alpine Club Center (https://baccenter.blackyak.com/bac-intro.asp) with their certified instructors will conduct the climbing lessons.

  • Instructors are certified by BAC.
  • Campers will have 3 days of climbing lessons.
  • All climbing equipment is provided.
  • Climbing lessons are 2hrs each day

Camp Happy Programs are taught by our counselor who are native English-speakers with years of teaching and camp experience. The counselor to camper ratio is 1 to 6. Complimentary programming with the climbing school include:

  • Geology and mountain formations
  • Hiking trip and planning
  • Physics of climbing equipment

Regular Camp Happy Programming includes:

  • Knot skills
  • Team-building games
  • Daily Yoga
  • Memento crafts

Accommodations
Campers return home daily and are picked up by private bus from LFS and LIX, except for the hiking trip, which includes one overnight stay. The evening before the hiking trip, campers will overnight at the BAC dorm rooms which are gender separated.

Meals
Campers will provide their own meals. Meals can also be bought at the local restaurants next to the BAC.

Cost per camper = ₩726,000.
Cost includes:
– 3 days of rock climbing instruction (2hrs/day)
– All rental climbing equipment
– 1 guided hiking trip
– 1 night of shared accommodations (16 students/room)
– 5 days of Camp Happy programming
– 5 days of transportation
– 5 days of travel insurance
– All Camp Happy Programming taught by native English teachers and counsellors
– Accompanying camp counsellors throughout the day

Note: Camp sessions are confirmed once at least 30 participants are enrolled.
