Camp Happy’s Climbing Day Camp is a 3-day English-language program designed for students ages 9 to 17, offering a unique blend of outdoor adventure, hands-on science, and skill-building experiences in the heart of Seoul. Hosted at the Black Yak Alpine Club, the camp includes 2 days of professional rock climbing instruction, 2-nights of accommodations, and a guided hiking trip in beautiful Bukhansan National Park. Campers engage in science, and team activities, all led by experienced English-speaking staff. With a safety-first, curiosity-driven approach, this camp provides a meaningful and unforgettable spring learning journey.
Dates of the camp are:
Wednesday, May 6 to Friday, May 8, 2026
Pick up is at 9:00am from Lycee Francais Seoul (LFS).
Drop off is at 3:00pm at LFS.
Black Yak Alpine Club Center (https://baccenter.blackyak.com/bac-intro.asp) with their certified instructors will conduct the climbing lessons.
- Instructors are certified by BAC.
- Campers will have 2 days of climbing lessons.
- All climbing equipment is provided.
- Climbing lessons are 2hrs each day
Camp Happy Programs are taught by our counselor who are native English-speakers with years of teaching and camp experience. The counselor to camper ratio is 1 to 8. Complimentary programming with the climbing school include:
- Geology and mountain formations
- Hiking trip and planning
- Physics of climbing equipment
Regular Camp Happy Programming includes:
- Knot skills
- Team-building games
- Daily Yoga
- Memento crafts
Accommodations
Campers will sleep in the dorm-style rooms in the BAC which are gender separated. There are up to 16 camper/room. Bedding, blankets, and pillows are included, but it is highly encouraged that campers bring their sleeping bags.
Meals
7 meals are included: 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 2 dinners.
Breakfasts will be a continental-type in the BAC.
Lunches and dinners will be had at local restaurants next to the BAC.
Cost per camper = ₩600,000.
Cost includes:
– 2 days of rock climbing instruction (2hrs/day)
– All rental climbing equipment
– 1 guided hiking trip
– 2 nights of shared accommodations (16 students/room)
– 7 meals
– 3 days of Camp Happy programming
– 1 chartered bus
– 3 days of travel insurance
– All Camp Happy Programming taught by experienced English teachers and counsellors
– Accompanying camp counsellors throughout the day
